Young Living Essential Oils

Once I began researching essential oils, I quickly found out there are a lot of places you can get essential oils. I also quickly found out the essential oils you can buy at the local store are very different than pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils. Then, once I found out essential oils work differently than medications because essential oils go the the heart of the matter, I just had to find the absolute best place to get these oils. 

After all my research of oils and everything about the companies out there (I took months and months researching them all), Young Living Essential Oils are the only oils I will use, allow my family to use, or suggest to anyone else.

Essential Oil Grades
There is a big difference between types of essential oils. Thinking all oils were the same, I’ve purchased lavender, eucalyptus, and spearmint “oil” from the store. I had no idea essential oils could help naturally with physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I just liked the smell and they helped me relax on tough days.

Then, I found out all Young Living essentials oils are pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils. They come directly from the plant – not a laboratory. They are never extended or adulterated with chemicals like most other essential oils you can purchase. 

Adulterated Oils and Their Dangers

Much of the lavender oil sold in the USA, for example, is the hybrid called lavandin, which is cut with chemicals to improve the fragrance. Then, solvents are added and it’s sold in the USA as lavender oil. Most people don’t know the difference.  

You can’t purchase less expensive essential oils and expect get the same results. Some people wonder why they don’t get the benefit they expected so think essential oils have little value. Most likely, they purchased either a synthetic and adulterated oils.

Adulterated and mislabeled essential oils present dangers for consumers. Adulterated oils cut with synthetic, extenders, and solvents can cause rashes, burning, skin irritations, and allergic reactions. Isolated compounds may be toxic. However pure essential oils, in most cases, are not.

 

Putting it to the Test…

I wanted to check it out for myself. When I bought my Young Living Starter Kit, it had a bottle of lavender essential oil in it. So, I compared that oil to the more expensive bottle I bought from a very reputable name brand store. The difference was obvious! The one I bought from a store has a perfume smell to it, the oil is sticky, and there is a leaflet inside with all kinds of warnings. The warnings include: Not for internal use as ingesting could be fatal, don’t use on children or pets, and seek medical assistance if any of these things occurred. These things clearly tell me they have added dangerous chemicals to the oil.

Red Flags Essential Oils May be Synthetic/Adulterated/ Toxic

1. 1. Price: Cheap prices for “pure” essential oils or all the prices for different oils are the same.
      
   2. Appearance: They are sold in see through bottles. Warning labels say the product is “for external use only,” “not for internal use,” or recommend to always dilute the essential oil before applying topically.
      
   3. Retailer: Purchasing oils on Ebay, Amazon, at a local store, or even off of a website selling supplies for homemade spa goodies.
